NeuroMovement® is a holistic approach to human functioning and action, based in the understanding that movement is the language of the brain. Movement provides information the brain needs to grow and organize itself. And, in return, the brain organizes all movement, thought, feelings, and action.

Movement includes not only movement of the body in space—the movement of the skeleton and muscles—but also the movement of thinking, emotion, and feelings. All action involves movement in all aspects of the self.

Accelerate Change With NeuroMovement® Functional Synthesis

NeuroMovement® Functional Synthesis is a one-on-one, brain-and-movement based method that activates your brain’s extraordinary ability to help you change and heal. Through gentle touch and mindful movement, this process allows you to improve how you move, think, and feel, unlocking greater physical and mental potential for everyday life.

Functional Synthesis Lesson

A Functional Synthesis (FS) lesson is a personalized session where a practitioner guides you through gentle, mindful movements to help your brain activate its natural ability to create new connections. This process helps improve how you move, think, and feel, unlocking greater physical and mental potential for everyday life.

  • Each FS lesson is a customized, hands-on session with a certified practitioner, tailored to your specific needs and goals.

  • You’ll relax, fully clothed, on a padded table (or other comfortable surface), while your practitioner gently guides you through subtle, non-invasive movements.

  • Sessions last about 35–45 minutes, with extra time for reflection and integration.

  • Many people report feeling deeply relaxed, more in touch with their bodies, and pleasantly surprised by new ease in movement.

Functional Synthesis Series

A Functional Synthesis Series includes several FS lessons (typically 4 to 10 sessions over one week, daily or twice daily) to maximize your brain’s ability to form new connections and accelerate learning.

This intensive approach can help you:

  • Reduce pain and discomfort

  • Improve mobility, balance, and flexibility

  • Enhance cognitive clarity and emotional well-being

  • Recover from injury, neurological challenges, or surgery

  • Optimize performance in sports, arts, and daily life

  • Support developmental and neurodivergent needs, including for children with special needs

Why do a Series of lessons?

Your brain changes most effectively when it experiences new, varied, and meaningful inputs. Each Functional Synthesis lesson introduces your brain to fresh, personalized experiences that encourage it to grow and adapt.

One lesson can begin this process, but the patterns of daily life are strong, making it hard for new neural connections to stick long term. When lessons happen several times within a short period (such as multiple lessons in a week), it accelerates your brain’s learning and strengthening of new neural connections. This higher frequency helps your brain lock in changes more effectively, making improvements in movement, thinking, and feeling stronger and longer-lasting.

Simply put, frequent sessions give your brain more “real-time” opportunities to learn and adjust, which creates a bigger, more noticeable impact than one isolated session can provide.

What to Expect

  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement, and bring socks for your feet.

  • Each lesson is tailored to your comfort and individual needs. No two lessons are the same, and each builds on the last.

  • You’ll be gently guided to notice your sensations and experiences, supporting your brain’s natural learning process.

  • Many people notice improvements in ease, coordination, and overall well-being after just a few lessons.

  • After your session, allow yourself time to rest and integrate the changes. Avoid strenuous activity for at least 24 hours.
